Ratio cibariorum adultis (pints 30 vel 40) et puer]is (20 pints) per mensem datorum, in cuneiforme in tabulis argillosis anno quarto Regis Urukagina (circa 2350 a.C.n.) scripta; ex Girsu Iraci, in Museo Britannico, Londinii.
Hordeum, in botanica Hordeum vulgare, est species familiae Poacearum et annuum frumentum cereale, quod maxima parte adhibetur ad animalia alenda, et minus ad bracium faciendum. Etiam iuribus et minutalibus adhibetur, et pani hordei in culturis variis. Grana hordei usitate in horteum convertitur. Anno 2005, hordeum fuit quartum frumentum cereale in cultivatione (560,000 km²).[2]
