Sima Qian (ca. 145 a.C.n. vel 135 a.C.n.–86 a.C.n.), etiam appellatus Ssu-ma Ch'ien et fortasse Ssu-ma Cheng-chen, fuit Praefectus Scribarum Grandum (太史令) Domus Han. Propter Documenta Historici Grandis (史記 vel 史记), suum librum laudatissimum, generalem Sinarum historiam modo "Jizhuanti" scriptam, quae plus quam duo milia annorum ab Imperatore Flavo ad Imperatorem Han Wudi (漢武帝 vel 汉武帝) tractat, pater historiographiae Sinicae habetur. Suum opus definitivum fundamenta historiographiae Sinicae constituit.
