Psychotherapia a Graecis ψυχή 'spiritus, anima' + θεραπεία 'sanatio, tractatio medica') est therapia psychologica, cura loquendi[1] primum appellata, adhibitio rationum psychologicarum, praecipue in quotidiana interactione personali condita, ut homo suos mores mutet difficultatesque modis desiderabilibus superet. Psychotherapia vult emendare hominis salutem valetudinemque mentis, ad mores, fides, vires, cogitationes, animive motús operosos mitigandos aut resolvendos, atque ad coniunctiones sollertiasque sociales meliores faciendas. Certae psychotherapiae in indiciis conditae ad nonnullos morbos mentis tractandos putantur; aliae autem pseudoscientia appellatae sunt.
