Prospectus
[recensere | fontem recensere]Donaldus Allen anno 1958 operam The New American Poetry dare coepit.
In secundo: Ashbery, Guest, O'Hara, Schuyler, Koch. Ex Franciscopoli: Spicer, Ginsberg, Whalen, Welch, Snyder, Meltzer, Lamantia, Loewinsohn, Everson (Frater Antoninus), Broughton, McClure, etc. Etiam praesentes, quamquam fortasse parum minus cooptati: Field, Corso, Sorrentino. Tam fracta erant respublica litteraria illius temporis quam nemo harum vocum in anthologia consimili, volumine Hall-Pack-Simpson, apparuit. Quod paene omne nomen in hac congerie inventum persona nota nunc est providentiam Allenianam laudibus debitis efficit.[2][3]
Liber tempore publicationis famam auxit poetarum sicut Robertus Duncan, Robertus Creeley, Dionysia Levertov, Paulus Blackburn, et Carolus Olson, nunc personarum agnitorum in motu qui tum contraditio emergens erat.[4] Allen anthologias alternis annis edere primum voluit; solum autem duos libros tales per viginti annos sequentis produxit: New American Writing (Penguin, 1965) et The Postmoderns (Grove, 1965).[5] Haec anthologia multum in Canada valuit: secundum The Canadian Encyclopedia, "Scripturam unius saltem aetatis poetarum Canadiensium movit."[6][7]

Notae
[recensere | fontem recensere]- ↑ In eorum numero etiam sunt poetae Aetatis Prostratae.
- ↑ Anglice: "Those included in this ground-breaking anthology were chosen from among about three distinct groupings: Black Mountain, the New York School, and the San Francisco Renaissance. In the first group—Creeley, Blackburn, Duncan, Eigner, Levertov, Olson, Oppenheimer, Dorn, Wieners and Jonathan Williams. Among the second: Ashbery, Guest, O'Hara, Schuyler, Koch. From San Francisco: Spicer, Ginsberg, Whalen, Welch, Snyder, Meltzer, Lamantia, Loewinsohn, Everson (Brother Antoninus), Broughton, McClure, etc. Also present, though perhaps slightly less affiliated: Field, Corso, Sorrentino. So divided was the literary politics of the day that not one of these voices appeared in its parallel version, the Hall-Pack-Simpson volume. A tribute to Allen's prescience is that nearly every name in this gathering is now a familiar figure."
