Eridanus[1], vel flumen Balticum[2] (Anglice Baltic River) fuit flumen praehistoricum maximum loco maris Baltici. Rheno maior erat et Danubio vix minor.

Eocaeno ortus est, Miocaeno longitudine et plenitudine maxime floruit. Postea Eridani pelvis siccationis glaciario operta est.

In Lapponia in montibus Scandinaviae incipiebat, per territoria sinus Bothnici et maris Baltici fluebat et in Nederlandia et in locis, ad septentrionem a Nederlandia in mari Germanico sitis, deltam maximam habebat, quae haud minor erat, quam delta fluminis Amazonum.

Harenae deltae Eridani pristinae facilius distinguuntur; in Nederlandia haec harenae albae (Nederlandice Witte Zanden) appellantur. In his particulae saxorum montium Scandinaviae septentrionalium inveniri possunt, quas glacies vere per flumen natans huc attulit.

Sucinum Balticum est resina taigae pristinae, quae in pelvi siccationis Eridani crescebat, sub glaciariis aetatis glacialis transformata.
