Filius fuit politici Cyriaci neposque praesidis ministrorum Eleutherii Benizeli. Inter secundum bellum mundanum in insula Creta contra occupationem Germanicam pugnavit. Post scholam finitam Metsotaces Athenis iurisprudentiae et oeconomiae studuit.

Ab anno 1946 usque ad 1967 legatus patriae suae in parlamento Graeco erat. Cum anno 1967 milites seditiosi rerum potiti essent, Metsotaces in carcerem coniectus est, sed fugere potuit atque in exilium iit. Anno 1974 libertate recuperata in patriam rediit et anno 1977 iterum legatus parlamenti electus est, nunc sodalis Novae Democratiae factionis. Ab anno 1978 ad 1980 administer oeconomiae et anno 1980/81 administer rerum exterarum erat. Anno 1984, cum factio eius in opposita parte esset, eius praeses electus est. Die 11 Aprilis 1990 post victoriam in electione captam Primus Minister factus est. Die 13 Octobris 1993, electione victus, e vita publica recessit.

Filius eius Cyriacus est politicus nostri temporis.
