Appearance
Threskiornithinae, vulgo ibides[1][2] et ibes,[2] sunt subfamilia avium familiae Threskiornithidarum, quae locos uliginosos, silvas, planities habitant.[3]
Descriptio
[recensere | fontem recensere]Threskiornithinis sunt rostra decurvata, et plerumque in gregibus vescuntur, cibum in luto petentes, saepissime crustacea. Monogamae et territorii zelotypae sunt cum nidificant et vescuntur.[3] Plurimae in arboribus nidificant, saepe cum plataleinis et ardeidis. Omnes species exstantes volare possunt, sed duo genera exstincta volatu carebant: Apteribis in Insulis Havaianis et Xenicibis in Iamaica.[3]
