Theodorus (Anglice Ted) Berrigan (Providentiae Rhodensis Insulae, 15 Novembris 1934; Greenwich Village Novi Eboraci, 4 Iulii 1983) fuit poeta Americanus. In Collegio Providentiae matriculavit, sed mox miles in Exercitu Civitatum Foederatarum merere coepit; gradum autem Artium Baccalaureati in studiis Anglicis in Universitate Tulsensi in Oclahoma anno 1959 obtinuit. Praestantes aetatis alterius Scholae Novi Eboraci poetarum partes egit, ubi inter suos numerabantur Iacobus Carroll, Anselmus Hollo, Alicia Notley, Ronaldus Padgett, Anna Waldman, et Ludovicus Warsh. Cirrhosi hepatis causa obiit die 4 Iulii 1983, anno aetatis suae quadragesima octava. "Unus ex ultimis beatniks erat"[1] dixit Anna Waldman.[2]

Franciscus O'Hara poeta The Sonnets ('Soneta'), opus Berriganianum maximi momenti, "res poesis modernae"[3] appellavit. Quae, significans suae aetatis memoria, elementa intertegit formae soneti Shakespeareani cum structura disiuncta et rhythmo Solitudinis (Terrae Vastae) Eliotianae et suarum innovationum litterariarum et experientiarum privatarum. Eventus est compositio, secundum Aliciam Notley, eius editorem et uxorem alteram, "[quae est] musica, sexualis, festiva."[4]
