Lacus Malavianus[1] (etiam Lake Nyasa in Tanzania et Lago Niassa in Mozambico appellatus) est lacus inter Malavium, Mozambicum, et Tanzaniam situs, una ex Magnis Lacubus Africanis et corpus aquae maxime australe in Valle Chasmatis Africae Orientalis, magno systemate geologico.

Lacus Malavianus est quarta a maximo aquae dulcis lacu in mundo per volumen aestimatus, nonus a maximo mundi lacu per aream aestimatus, et tertius a maximo et secundus ab altissimo lacu in Africa. Plures species piscium in Lacu Malaviano quam in alio lacu habitant,[2] inter quas saltem 700 cichlidarum species.[3] Mozambicana lacus pars copia naturalis a rectione Mozambici die 10 Iunii 2011 rite declaratus est,[4] atque in Malavio, pars lacus in Viridario Nationalis Lacus Malaviani comprehenditur.[2]

Lacus Malavianus est lacus meromicticus, quod significat strata suarum aquarum inter se non miscere. Continua aquae Lacus Malaviani stratificatio et finis aquarum oxicarum et anoxicarum (quod ad oxygenium in aqua pertinent) per proclivitates thermales chemicasque conservantur.[5]
