Frons occidentalis ecclesiae cathedralis Lichfeldensis

Ecclesia cathedralis Lichfeldensis Lichfildiae in urbe visitatur. Dioecesi Merciorum saeculo VII exeunte constituta, prima ecclesia lignea anno circiter 700 constructa est. Huic ab anno 1085 aedificium lapideum succedit. Cathedralis autem quae hodie videtur, anno 1195 incepta, non ante medium saeculum XIV perfecta erit.

Aevo recentiori restitutionem ecclesiae Iacobus Wyatt inter annos 1788 et 1795 curavit, inter annos 1855 et 1861 iterumque inter 1877 et 1881 Georgius Gilbertus Scott, qui praesertim de refectione frontis occidentalis, graviter delapidatae, laboravit ut faciem mediaevalem recrearet.
