Fructus cultivarietatum Cucurbitae peponis
Cucurbita pepo (binomen a Linnaeo anno 1753 statutum) est species plantarum florentium familiae Cucurbitacearum hominibus perutilis, latissime culta, cultivarietatibus permultis. Species primum domesticata est abhinc annorum circiter 10 000 in Mexico meridiano. Indicia huius culturae usque adhuc antiquissima in spelunca Guilá Naquitz reperta sunt.
