Pegoscapus est genus insectorum familiae Agaonidarum, in America endemicum. Singuli a Florida et Mexico in septentrionibus ad Argentinam in parte australi extendunt. Agaonidis est mutualismus obligatus cum speciebus ficorum quas pollinant. Pegoscapus species in sectione Americana subgeneris Urostigmatis pollinat.

Genus vixisse aestimatur abhinc annorum circa 28 milliones secundum sequentias nucleotidorum oxidasium cytochromaticarum?, et annorum plus quam 20 milliones secundum fossile in sucino a Republica Dominicana observatum.[2]
