Odeum,[1] seu theatrum melodramaticum,[2] est aedificium scaenicum productionibus melodramatum dicatum, quod in scaena theatrica, orchestra, choro, subselliis publicis, vestimentario et loco scaenarum conficiendarum consistit. Alii loci diserte pro operis constructi sunt, alii autem sunt partes maiorum aedificiorum artium practicarum.

Primum odeum publicum recentioris aetatis fuit Theatrum Sancti Cassiani Venetiolae in Italia situm, quod anno 1637 apertum est.
