Nomenclatura si duo vel multi atomi oxygenii sunt in formula:
- duo atomi: Dioxidum
- tres atomi: Trioxidum
- quattuor atomi: Tetroxidum
- quinque atomi: Pentoxidum
- sex atomi: Hexoxidum
- septem atomi: Heptoxidum
Sunt multa oxida, per exemplum:
- Aqua H2O
- Monoxidum carbonis CO
- Dioxidum carbonis CO2
- Trioxidum sulfuris SO3
- Dioxidum sulfuris SO2
- Dioxidum nitrogenii NO2
- Oxidum natrii Na2O
