Borlaug gradús Baccaleureati Scientiae in silvologia anno 1937 et Philosophiae Doctoris in phytopathologia et genetica anno 1942 ab Universitate Minnesotensis accepit. Investigationes agriculturales in Mexico facere coepit, ubi cultivarietates tritici nani morbis plantarum resistentís fecit.[1][2]
