Miridae sunt magna et varia insectorum familia olim Capsidae appellata.[1] Quae, maxima familia subordinis Heteropterorum, plus 10 000 specierum descriptarum comprehendit, ac novae species perpetuo describuntur. Latissime notae sunt species quae pestes plantas agriculturales magni momenti petunt, suco vescuntur, atque aliquando morbos plantarum transmittunt; aliquot autem sunt species praedatoriae.

Haec familia multas species comprehendit, quarum multae ignotae iam manent, per plus 1300 generum digestae. Arbor taxinomica in septem subfamilias multasque tribus digeritur, inter quas sequentes.

Inter genera Incertae sedis sunt Adenostomocoris, Arctostaphylocoris, Aurantiocoris, Calidroides, Chlamyopsallus, Guentherocoris, Neopsallus, Pruneocoris, Vanduzeephylus.
