Exemplar arboreum[1] in linguistica historica est exemplar evolutionis linguarum, notioni arboris familiaris simile, praesertim arboris phylogeneticae in biologica specierum evolutione. Quaeque lingua, speciei similis, se ex uno parente (lingua materna aliquando appellata) evolvisse habetur, ac linguae quae proavum communem habent eiusdem familiae linguarum esse. Notio exemplaris arborei ab Augusto Schleicher, linguista Germanico, anno 1852 proposita est.[2]
