Educating Eve: The "Language Instinct" Debate est liber a Galfrido Sampson scriptus, qui argumenta contra theoriam Noam Chomsky naturae humanae acquisitionis linguae (primae). Sampson dixit primum libri titulum fuisse consideratum ad Educating Rita ludum et pelliculam allusionem (1980), et argumento illius ludi utitur ad ornandum suum argumentum. The Language Instinct (1994) est liber qui linguisticas Chomsky et aliorum doctrinas lectoribus generalibus praebet, auctore Stephano Pinker scientista cognitivo, ut lectores non eruditi res intellegant.

Educating Eve, primum nomen, post editionem primam deletum est, quia allusio ad Educating Rita nimis occulta habebatur.[1] Editio retractata (2005) continet capitulum additum et "multos locos, a nonnullis verbis ad novas subcapita, qui inventiones scientificas pertinentis disceptant quae post editionem primam orti sunt, vel contradictionibus a iudicibus illius editionis positis respondent.[2][3]

Cowley difficultates invenit philosophicas in ullo extremo, ut a Sampson et Pinker arguitur: Sampsonianum positionis naturae iudicium etiam dualismum philosophicum proponit; quandoquidem Pinkeranum positionis naturae iudicium etiam realitatem ontologicam syntaxis proponit. Ambo disputationes auxiliares multis scriptoribus qui latiores quaestiones philosophicas pertinentis adloquuntur non satisfaciunt.

Cowley ponit alternatam condicionem: quod adquisitio linguae sollertias implicat linguae a cultura determinatas, a facultate per biologiam determinata quae eis respondet apprehensas. Quod significat eum ponere ullum extremum esse verum ubi adfirmat, sed falsum ubi negat. Diversitas linguae et instinctus discendi adfirmari possunt; neutra res negari potest.
