Ska est genus musicae quod in Iamaica annis 1950 exeuntis ortum est, rocksteady et reggae antecedens. Partes generum Caribaeorum mento et calypso cum generibus Americanis jazz et rhythm and blues coniunxit. Lineam bassi "ambulantem" et rhythmum in ictibus imparibus pulsum habet.
