Poor Richard's Almanack
Poor Richard's Almanack ('Fasti Ricardi Pauperis'), aliquando Almanac tantum, fuit fasti annui a Beniamino Franklinio editi, qui pseudonymo Ricardi Pauperis (plene Ricardi Saunders) pro hoc proposito utebatur. Libellus ab 1732 ad 1758 continenter apparebet, bestseller inter libellos in coloniis Americanis editus; numerus exemplarium impressorum 10 000 fere per annum erant.[1][2]
Franklinio, inventori, viro civili, physico, et duci domus editoria Americano, Poor Richard's Almanack fuit bene res gesta. Tales libelli populo gratissimi in America coloniali erant, temporales caeli praenuntiationes, consilia domestica utilia, aenigmata, et alia oblectamenta mixta praebentes.[3] Poor Richard's Almanack populo gratus etiam pro latus ludi verborum usu, et nonnullae locutiones facetae in opere fictae iam in patrio sermone hodierno supersunt.[4]
Res quae insunt
[recensere | fontem recensere]Almanack calendarium, caelum, poemata, aphorismos, et res astronomicas et astrologicas continebat, res quae fasti illius aetatis usitate offerebant. Franklinius etiam exercitia mathemetica aliquando praebebat, et Almanack ex 1750 exemplum demographiae exprimit. Praesertim autem commemoratur repositorium aphorismorum et proverbiorum Franklinii, quorum multa in lingua Anglica Americana iam vivunt. Haec axiomata usitate frugalitatem et comitatem lectori suadent, cum mensura cynicismi.[5]
