Historia Arabiae Sauditae, civitatis sui iuris formá hodierná, orta est anno 1744 cum nomine Nadium cui anno 1932 Hidiazum et Alhasa adiuncta sunt, sed historia et praehistoria hominum in paeninsula Arabica retro ad tempora abhinc annorum 20 000 extenditur. Quae regio bis in historia mundi magnos effectus habuit: saeculo septimo, incunabula religionis Islamicae et sedes caliphatus Rashidun? facta est; atque ex saeculo vicensimo, vasti petrolei lacus subterranei ut Arabia Saudiana oeconomicas politicasque partes magni momenti in historia civilizationis orbis terrarum ageret fecerunt.
