Epistula decussata[1] est epistula manu scripta quae duas distinctas copias scripturae continet, alia super aliam ad pares angulos posita.[2][3] Hoc per tempora novi systematis postalis saeculo undevicensimo institutum est ad impensam vecturae litterarum et chartae minuendam. Haec ratio etiam scriptura transversa[1] appellatur.[4] Scriptura decussata a palimpsesto distinguitur quia manuscripta decussata continuo vel pro eodem proposito scribebantur (sicut diarium), potius quam postea iterum adhibita.
