Salve, MinPer!

Ave! Spero te "Vicipaedianum" aut "Vicipaedianam" fieri velle!

Bene venisti apud nos. Norma Vicipaediae Latinae est praenomina Christiana hominum recentiorum Latine convertere, sicut et alii Latinistae faciunt, e.g. qui Latine apud universitates civitatemque Vaticanam scribunt. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 15:39, 16 Iulii 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I blocked ...[fontem recensere]

... this account because it was used repeatedly to move pages against consensus. The summary was given "los nombres no se cambian", but this is not true. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 16:03, 6 Augusti 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I write in English because I'm not interested in a dead language. The name is Pedro Cateriano, not Petrus Cateriano. Or in English Wikipedia we use "Peter Cateriano"?? No!!
Hola. ¡No! MinPer (disputatio) 16:09, 6 Augusti 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, OK, if you're not interested in a dead language you have perhaps no reason to edit Vicipaedia. But if you wish to do so in accordance with our current consensus, or indeed to discuss it, you are welcome to do so. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 20:58, 6 Augusti 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I am interested in correcting misspelling names. MinPer (disputatio) 21:15, 6 Augusti 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Vicipaedia is a collaborative effort, so, if a spelling that some Vicipaedians think correct modern Latin is said by you to be misspelling, you will need to discuss before changing.
It's worth remembering, perhaps, that the Wikipedias are not official sources and do not always choose official names as page titles. For example, the usual rule on the English Wikipedia (your example above) is not to choose official names, but the usual name in English sources.
In the same way, the Latin Vicipaedia article about the man who is now pope was at first called Georgius Marius Bergoglio. This is not a misspelling, it is the form of his name that was used in Latin sources both official like this and this and unofficial like this. It is normal in Latin writing to convert Christian forenames to Latin in this way. If Pedro Cateriano is given an honorary degree by a university (as probably will happen!) it is likely that his name will appear officially in this Latin form.
