Not quite[fontem recensere]

"Nomen etiam pro quibusdam generis Clematis plantis olim adhibitum est." This worried me, so I checked. The en:wiki article isn't clear at this point, but what it is trying to say is that the English term "pepper vine", not the Latin word "piper", was used in that way. This is confirmed by en:Clematis, which says "Clematis was called pepper vine by early travelers and pioneers of the American Old West". Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 21:45, 21 Octobris 2009 (UTC)[reply]
