Sigh, I really want to contribute to this article, but I'm afraid of POVing . . . --Ioscius (disp) 15:12, 14 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is sometimes difficult to write about something about which you have definite opinions. Fortunately the Civil war happened long enough ago that none of us were in it. A good check that I used when writing the Cuba article is to make sure your facts are corroboraed by more than one source and I was also careful to tred softly or sidestep topics for which there is clear controversy especially when the controversy is about the facts. --Rafaelgarcia 15:36, 14 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In my high school in New Jersey, we had two years of American history but managed to completely skip over the Civil war. The first year's class ended with events leading up to the war and the next year picked up after the war during reconstruction.--Rafaelgarcia 15:39, 14 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I was affraid of with Bellum civile Hispanicum, but his war was just 70 years ago, and our politicians seem not to be over it, manily because for all the 40 of Franco's years the civil war was constantly present...--Xaverius 16:49, 14 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully I will find a way to contribute neutrally. I have some really wonderful literature, both primary and secondary on the subject. It'd be a shame not to incorporate.--Ioscius (disp) 17:24, 14 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]

April 12th?[fontem recensere]

Secundum vicipaediam Anglicam bellum finitum est 9 Aprilis ?! --Alex1011 18:18, 14 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Finitus pugnandi fuit 9 Aprilis. 12 Aprilis fuit "formal surrender of arms". Est singulum quod oportet perexplicari, tibi consentio. Dam tempus, promitto me magis scripturum esse.--Ioscius (disp) 18:58, 14 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]

USA vs CSA[fontem recensere]

Hi yall. I'm just wondering how to translate Cofederate States of America when we use the expression Civitates Foederatae Americae to say USA. It would be better to translate USA wuth Unitae Civitates Americae and CSA with (Con)Foederatae Civitates Americae.
Of course, it seems not to be easy to change every page, containing CFA. that's why I'm only asking you this question. Has somebody answered to this question on another page. No idea... -- Ricardus 09:37, 1 Novembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]

mortiferissimum reipublicae bellum[fontem recensere]

Haereo legens superlativum mortiferissimum.

Fortasse oportet periphrasi uti, maxime mortiferum. Lesgles (disputatio) 19:49, 25 Iulii 2019 (UTC)[reply]
"Mortiferissimus" et "mortiferrimus" barbarismi sunt pessimi generis. Maxime mortiferus quidem recte dicitur, sed si superlativo uti volumus, mutato adiectivo dicemus: funestissimus. Neander (disputatio) 21:05, 25 Iulii 2019 (UTC)[reply]
