Cocainum[1] est substantia psychotropica quae facere potest homines non iam sui iuris esse et aegros fieri. E plantis Erythroxylum coca et Erythroxylum novogranatense extrahitur.

Georgius Trakl cocainum ut medium mortis voluntariae usus est.

Effectus pharmacologici[recensere | fontem recensere]

Cocainum per inhibitionem reabsorptionis noradrenalini effectus sympathomimeticos stimulat[2], nimirum periculosos effectus cardiacos, ut arrythmias seu infarctus cordis notari possunt[3]. Etiam reabsorptio neurotransmissorum dopamini et serotonini inhibita est. Praeterea receptoria adrenergica alpha stimulantur, ita tachycardiae et arrhythmiae observantur. Praeterea cocainum vasoconstrictor est vasorum cerebri[4].
