Alpinia galanga (binomen a Carolo Ludovico Willdenow post Linnaeum statutum) est planta generis Alpiniae et familiae Zingiberacearum atque fons aromatis galangae maioris (galanga minor e specie Alpinia officinarum provenit): rhizoma enim flavonol nomine galangin continet.
