Ethanol sive aethanol, [1] etiam ethyl alcohol, aethyl alcohol (nova Latinate), alcohol absolutus,[2], alcohol absolutum,[2] alcohol aethylicus,[3] alcohol ethylicum,[2] alcohol purum, alcohol granorum, alcohol bibendi, et vetere nomine (non IUPAC) spiritus vini,[2] est humor volatilis et flammabilis sine colore, medicamentum psychoactivum, et unum ex veterrimis medicamenta oblectationis. Notissimum ut genus alcoholis in potionibus alcoholicis inventum, id etiam in thermometris, ut solvens, et ut fomes adhibetur. In usu quotidiano, tantum alcohol atque spiritus saepe appellatur.
