Is this category well-named? Someday (i.e., yesterday?), directors of cinematography (en:cinematographer) should be distinguished from directors of films (en:director (film)). Most of those listed here probably belong in the latter category. (What are those who belong in the former category to be called?) Some film people (e.g., Akira Kurosawa, David Lean, and Andy Warhol) have been both cinematographers and directors, but such amalgamation of roles may have been more common in the early days of film.
