Aha! Well, it should be Canon (musicus) in any case. Or all the meanings of canon can be discussed on one page, I suppose: such things happen a lot on la:, both because Latin tends to cover multiple subjects with one word, and because more often than not we don't have enough writing to divy up the articles nicely. Oooh, but canon is also a part of a hydraulic organ!
