What do y'all think about this? it happens often enough, maybe we should allow it, and regulate it? We could have one main page explaining the concept, and then a bunch of /pages for countries. We could then place in people's disputatio pages {{magistri}}, so that they could write a proper article, in the appropriate spot. Or if someone has a better idea for organizing this, say so. But the concept?--Ioshus (disp) 22:38, 15 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In my view, we should be working on an encyclopedia, taking into account that bytes are cheap. If a Latin teacher wrote a book, then sure we should have a page on him/her. And if a person is just a Latin teacher, well, we might tolerate the article if it is verifiable (e. g. via the website of the school) and if it is written in encyclopedic style. The current state of the page is in my view neither verifiable nor written in encyclopedic style. --UV 00:27, 16 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Whether we have a system or not, Latin students will sometimes write articles about their teachers -- biographies of living persons, sometimes potentially libellous but often very hard to understand! It's a dangerous area. I think Ioshus's idea is good, but a BLP warning is necessary, and, as UV says, we need to be able to verify. The article doesn't yet say where this person (Karina Haupt?) teaches. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 13:08, 16 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I also suspect this text taken from Magistra Alta and Magistra Altae is meant to be obscene: if so, we should surely delete it right away. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 15:20, 1 Aprilis 2007 (UTC)[reply]
