Roland has added Imago:Open_bible_01_01.png to this template, which he has been adding to all source templates. I'm not certain it should be in this one though. The reason is that it's not a public domain resource, and so I credit it in the bibliography section instead of in a note at the bottom of the page. the only reason I made the template is that I use this souce so often. for a good example of why I think we shouldn't use the image here, see Lucunculus#Bibliographia.

I assumed that all images on Commons are licenced under the GPL. My mistake. I did not spend much effort in choosing that image, I just took any image in order to visually signal the reader that this is not a simple text but a formuala. I'll look for a "legal" image on Commons.
BTW, I've startet an overview about the used images on the Latin WP. Maybe then we can develop something like a "corporate identity" and substitute the actually used images with images which follow this CI style.

You have misunderstood me! The image itself is PD. I mean the book Food in the Ancient World: A to Z is not. It seems to me that a template saying "This page incorporates text from such-and-such a PD source" is different from one saying "This page uses information and/or ideas from the following copyrighted source." --Iustinus 18:13, 31 Ianuarii 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oops. Since you changed the image on the basis of a misunderstanding I reverted it, but I didn't realize that that would automatically revert ALL your changes. Now there's no image there at all. I don't think there should be an image there, but I don't want to remove it unilaterally. Sorry! --Iustinus 18:18, 31 Ianuarii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maxcorrigenda[fontem recensere]

Roland, what's with the maxcorrigenda template? Did you just add that because you wrote the instruction text in English, or do you think there's a deeper problem with this template? --Iustinus 21:00, 12 Novembris 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added it, because I wrote the comment/explanations in English. However, maybe we could translate Andrew. ;-) --Rolandus 22:05, 12 Novembris 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, should we ever write an article about him (hey, I think then he would be the first person to have an account and an article on la:—I know David Morgan has made contributions, but anonymously), it shoudl be under Andreas Dalby. But I left his name in English for this template so as not to hinder people who are looking for the book: his name will be listed in any bibliographic source as Andrew, afterall. --Iustinus 01:40, 13 Novembris 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Now that the aforementioned article has been written, we need to start an equivalent to en:Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles for la: ;) --Iustinus 18:21, 15 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Optional parameters[fontem recensere]

It seems that this template's parameters really should be optional. It would certainly be nice to be able to use it in articles where I'm using more than one lemma or pagenumber. I don't know how to do this. Can the change be made without disrupting existing uses of the template? --Iustinus 23:17, 13 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. ;-) --UV 03:22, 14 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, but there's still no way to do s.v. without p., no? --Iustinus 03:24, 14 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
{{DalbyAZ||French fries with ketchup}}
gives
"French fries with ketchup" in Andrew Dalby, Food in the Ancient World from A to Z (Londinii, 2003. ISBN 0415232597)
Greetings, --UV 13:00, 14 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
excellent! the article on french fries with ketchup, by the way, is excellent, but I wish he would have cited his sources! ;) --iustinus 19:15, 14 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)
Better not cite that article, though. It appears only in the limited edition for subscribers only, along with some highly necessary additions to the entries on Flute-girls and Aphrodisiacs. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 21:27, 14 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Right, this is one of those deals where your subscription automatically renews at the end of each month, purely for your convenience, isn't it? --Iustinus 18:06, 15 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
