Non-hidden text[fontem recensere]

I removed the hidden text "<!--sed Epistemologi in en:-->" for two reasons: 1, categories are normally edited using HotCat, in which case the editor will not see hidden text; so it's pointless adding hidden text to categories; 2. the en:wiki category system, in continual rapid change (see en:Categories for discussion), is a poor model for others.

On the real point at issue, very few potential members of this category would be biographical pages about epistemologists. Currently, only one is. Making this a sub-category of "Categoria:Epistemologi" has the result of categorizing all member pages as "Epistemologi". That makes no sense. On the other hand, it's perhaps reasonable to say that many potential member pages will be relevant to "Epistemologia"; if that's the case, "Categoria:Epistemologia" is perhaps useful. Hence I added the "a". Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 13:24, 18 Martii 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Checks of several subjects in the English wiki a few days ago showed that the categories denoting persons often Latinized in -i (and -istae) are subcategories of subjects often Latinized in -ia. For example, "Epistemologists" is a subcategory of "Epistemology," and at the foundation of the whole categorizing game, "Philosophers" is a subcategory of "Philosophy." Seems logical to me. We do the same. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 14:11, 18 Martii 2021 (UTC)[reply]
