How to translate this "drag"?[fontem recensere]

Apud en: "A parachute is a device used to slow the motion of an object through an atmosphere by creating drag." Note the inadequacies of the Latin simplification: "Umbrella descensoria est instrumentum quo delapsus aërius retardatur aut impeditur." Drag, as a technical term for a physical phenomenon, deserves its own article, as in other wikis. Therefore, it wants latinizing. IacobusAmor 12:42, 13 Iulii 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, my modest purpose was to correct the Latinity, which was even more inadequate. Re "drag", maybe "resistentia aeria" (or "resistentia aero/fluidodynamica"). --Neander 13:04, 13 Iulii 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Drag involves a fluid (which may be a liquid or a gas), so "aero/fluido" isn't quite right. I've made the verb active; maybe that helps. IacobusAmor 13:25, 13 Iulii 2010 (UTC)[reply]
