... Meaning that a "binomen" by definition must be two words. How right you are. I suggest the following pattern when we are talking about a one-word scientific name:

'''Trilobita''' ([[Lingua Latina zoologica|nomen zoologicum]] a [[Ioannes Ernestus Immanuel Walch|Walch]] anno [[1771]] inventum) ...
