Movi pagina Minuta->Minutus quia secundum Newtonum et Eulerum masculinus sic est. Vide paginam "secundus" et fontes illuc.--Rafaelgarcia 05:33, 8 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting, because I've always seen it stated that minute and second are feminine, modifying an understood hora. But in any case, I don't think Newton's rule is number + unit-in-the-genitive-case. When I search Principia for minutorum or secundorum all the examples I immediately see contain the word tempus. In other words, "a time of 9 seconds" -- it's a genitive of description. --Iustinus 06:11, 8 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think based on some google searches that I may have figured out the meaning of minuta and secunda: I believe these feminine versions of minutus and secundus refer to minutes and seconds of angle rather of time. Still investigating...--Rafaelgarcia 03:17, 9 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
