Si fontem habemus nominis "Insula Scottica", optime: necesse est fontem citare. Sine fonte hoc nomen, mea mente, non idoneum est quia sensus primarius "Insulae Scotticae" est "insula ad Scottos vel ad Scotia[m] pertinens". Fonte carente, nomen "Insula Scott" propono.

If we have a source for "Insula Scottica", we should cite it. If not, this name won't work (I think) because the obvious meaning would be "Scottish island, île écossaise" etc. Therefore, without a Latin source, I suggest that our choice should be "Insula Scott". The adjective Scottiana is available, as attested in the species epithets of Dypsis scottiana and Hornstedtia scottiana. For the reason Andrew gives, it's preferable here to Scottica. Clearly derived from Scott, it contrasts with epithets having only one tee and apparently derived from Scotia, as in Falsilunatia scotiana and Trophonella scotiana.
