Societas Indiarum Orientalium Mercatilis Britannica[fontem recensere]

Do you have a source on that? If so, that's fine; but one wonders whether the less unusual order might be better: Mercatilis Indiarum Orientalium Societas Britannica, the model being Bradley's Arnold's vera animi magnitudo 'true greatness of mind' = adj. + genitive + nominative (which would put societas last, then to be distinguished from other such societies [e.g., perhaps, Lusitana] by a concluding Britannica). "Vera animi magnitudo" is nice, but is the adjective serving the same function as in "Societas Mercatilis"? Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 19:49, 14 Martii 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes: 'true greatness' ~ 'mercantile society'. But one wonders why it's a newfangled word, like mercatilis, instead of a classical one, like mercatorius. You must have an attestation up your sleeve! IacobusAmor 20:37, 14 Martii 2010 (UTC)[reply]
