Eccam formulam (sermone Plauti =])) --Ioscius (disp) 04:33, 3 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, very nice, Iosci! The funny thing that happens on the way to this formula is that I can't see it with my usual browser (Firefox). Similarly, I can't see {{Civitas Americae}} with Firefox. I can see them with Opera, so I know they exist! I notice they both contain id="toc". An odd thing. I wonder if anyone else has the same problem.
Ah, now I've got it. It required the choice of "Table of contents" in "My preferences". The effect of that choice must be slightly different in different browsers. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 11:43, 3 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cum latranti nomine[fontem recensere]

Andrew, as you probably know, this phrase has caused much headache among philologists. Syntactically, cum latranti nomine may also go with comoedia as well as with Plautus. Is the explanation you give in fn.2 from MacCary & Willcock? --Neander 13:40, 3 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is, so I'll amend the note to cite them; and no, I didn't know that. M&W don't indicate that there's any controversy. Thanks, Neander! I can't add more myself because I don't have access to other views. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 14:06, 3 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]
