The title would require an adjective of the name Hamas, something like Bellum Israëlo-Hamasianum. --Grufo (disputatio) 14:29, 18 Octobris 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sed fontem vocabuli "Hamasiani" requiritur; etiam de "Israëlo-" in dubio sum. Pro tempore, vocabulo classico utens, "Bellum Gazeticum (2023)" propono. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 20:17, 19 Octobris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Aliquos fontes vocabuli Hamasiani habemus:
Sed titulus Bellum Gazeticum (2023) non mihi displicet. --Grufo (disputatio) 20:26, 19 Octobris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Vide praeterea titulos in aliis vicipaediis propositis. IacobusAmor (disputatio) 10:57, 23 Octobris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
--Grufo (disputatio) 14:36, 23 Octobris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In general, two adjectives need to be available: one for Israelites (Iron-Age Semitic-speaking tribes in the Near East) and one for Israelis (modern Hebrew-speaking people belonging to the State of Israel). Israeliticus and Israel(i)anus? Does the Vulgate establish a norm for the former sense? and the Vatican for the latter? IacobusAmor (disputatio) 16:37, 23 Octobris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think Israëlianus -a, -um is modern (i.e. after the creation of the state of Israel, 1947), but it is used in contemporary Latin. One source for all: https://www.latinisator.ch/2012/01/09/nuntii-latini-09-01-2012/ (others can be found with Google). I would keep Israëliticus instead for the ancient inhabitants. --Grufo (disputatio) 17:00, 23 Octobris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes indeed. "Israeliticus" goes back to Augustine and is used by botanists. For "Israelianus" (modern) there is also support from Ephemeris.
My suggestion far above "Bellum Gazeticum (2023)" is supported only (as far as Wikipedia is concerned) by the Ukrainian Wikipedia. All the others have variants of the "Israel vs Hamas" name. So, forgetting that, I readily agree with Grufo's last suggestion. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 17:41, 23 Octobris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, so if we all agree I am goin to move the page to Bellum Israëlianum-Hamasianum anni 2023. --Grufo (disputatio) 19:25, 23 Octobris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We all seem to be of one mind. Is champagne warranted? IacobusAmor (disputatio) 03:22, 24 Octobris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I prefer Vouvray. This could be the beginning of a new disputatio Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 08:13, 24 Octobris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
