Musica traditionalis ? Musica Folk

en:Carmina BuranaMusica burana? ;-) --Rolandus 19:58, 19 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)
Why? Carmina Burana = "Songs of Beuern" not "music of Beuern"--Rafaelgarcia 20:04, 19 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)
Oh ... I remember having heard about a word buranus meaning "rural". Sorry. --Rolandus 20:14, 19 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)
Suggesting "musica popularis", as I do, is a dead certain way of raising discussion on pop music. Right?   :–)   --Neander 21:03, 19 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. The issue gets in the way.--Rafaelgarcia 21:45, 19 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)
All right, "Musica plebeia" ... not! Maybe it's better to say Musica Folk because Folk, in this context, seems not to allow a street credible translation. In a way of speaking, Folk is a global sign for a certain performative style that resists other names ... just like Blues, Rock, and Jazz. --Neander 23:05, 19 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)
... or Cancan. --Neander 23:12, 19 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I agree, many languages have done the same; I've changed it above.--Rafaelgarcia 00:51, 20 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)
