Dirham copper coin weighted 13.32 g showing [?] Saladin (according to inscript of the coin), stucked in Mayyafariqin (Silvan/Turkey), 1189-1190 AD - See: Paul Balog, The Coinage of the Ayyūbids, London: Royal Numismatic Society, issue 12, 1980, item 182.

The coinage of the Turkoman dynasties – the Artuqids, Zangids, and Danishmendids, as well as the Ayyubids – included a variety of human and animal figural types on their bronze dirhems.

Coin shown in the Exhibition "Saladin und die Kreuzfahrer" in 2006 in Mannheim, Germany (Original: Coin Collection of the University Library Leipzig, Germany).
