Daoud is of course a surname, so should not be Latinized without a good reason (it woudl be David, obviously). But what about Moussa? That is a given name, so perhaps should be Musa or Moses (traditionally, Latin writers have not been as quick to "translate" Arabic names as to "transliterate" them, even when they knew the names were equivalent). Really, in this case, as with the other Cardinals, we should probably looking for Latin citations on the Vatican website, and other Catholic haunts (ahem, print ;) ) --Iustinus 20:43, 29 Decembris 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent, thank you! --Iustinus 22:29, 13 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On the whether-to-translate Moussa question, it's interesting that es lists him s.v. Ignacio Moisés I Daoud --Iustinus 01:50, 9 Martii 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also en:Ignatius Moses I Daoud and no:Ignatius Moses I. It seems fair to have a "sive Moyses" or the like here. --Iustinus 17:44, 9 Octobris 2011 (UTC)[reply]
