Cottonus Matherus[2] (Anglice Cotton Mather ; 12 Februarii 166313 Februarii 1728) fuit clericus Puritanus Americanus, in socialibus civilibusque Novae Angliae rebus magni momenti, auctor fecundus, et pamphleteer, saepe hodie repetitus propter partes quas in iudiciis sagarum Salemensibus egit. Fuit filius Crescentii Matheri ac nepos Ioannis Cottoni et Ricardi Matheri, quorum omnes clerici Puritani magni momenti fuerunt. Gradus artium magistri (Collegium Harvardianum) et theologiae doctoris (Universitas Glasgoviensis) accept, et Regiae Societatis Londiniensis socius fuit.
