If Scots Gaelic is "Lingua Scotia", what is Latin for Scots? LeighvsOptimvsMaximvs 14:06, 29 Novembris 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good question. The template Formula:Usor sco-3 links here at present, but it ought to link to Scots, when we have an article for that language. Andrew Dalby 16:48, 4 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Scotica or Scottica is the name for Gaelic, not "Scots", which is a neologism and post-dates mainstream use of Latin (as does Gadelica or Gaedelica). Really can't call a dialect of English "Scotica" in Latin wiki when the Latin language only really ever employed that word to mean Irish or Scottish Gaelic. Bede or Adomnán, anybody? Medieval Scottish charters? Fordun? Bower? Mr. Tickles 02:05, 30 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
