Iacobus Clerk Maxwell (James Clerk Maxwell, natus 13 Iunii 1831; mortuus 5 Novembris 1879) fuit mathematicus et physicus Scoticus, qui saeculo undevicensimo campis electromagneticis et eorum legibus a Michaelo Faraday inventibus studuit, Aequationes Maxwellianas excogitans. Etiam studium thermodynamicae fecit, Daemonem Maxwellianum excogitans.

Iacobus Clerk Maxwell fuit alumnus universitatum Edinburgensis et Cantabrigiensis, ubi socius Collegii Trinitatis anno 1859 electus est; fuit professor philosophiae naturalis apud academiam Marischallanam Aberdonensem et postea apud Collegium Regale Londiniense.

Maxwell in Regalem Societatem Londinii anno 1861 cooptatus est.
