Replacement image for Spain1785.gif, deleted by User:CambridgeBayWeather on 12 September 2006. I, User:Hydrargyrum, made this image and hereby release into the public domain, with no restrictions on its use. It may not have the same pixel size as the previous version, so Wikipedia articles linking to this file may need to be edited to resize the image to fit.

This image was assembled from information found at various sites on the World Wide Web. While researching the information, it became clear that there is considerable confusion in vexillology, the exact design of flags being in dispute when actual historical artifacts are unavailable for direct examination. I do know the correct aspect ratio of the flag is 3:2. The widths of the red and yellow fields are in the proportions 1:2:1. The coat of arms is placed approximately correctly and is sized approximately in the correct proportions, but the creator of this image does not guarantee that the colors exactly match official specifications. At any rate, during the period this flag was in use, there were no color matching systems such as Pantone, the CMYK color model, etc.!
