In April 1928, this popular Parisian dancer and film star was signed by Samuel Goldwyn and brought to America to appear with Ronald Colman in his first starring vehicle, The Rescue. Born July 10, 1906, in Paris, Damita stood 5 feet, 1 1/2 inches, weighed 112 and had golden blonde hair and brown eyes. She was once reported engaged to Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia, grandson of the ex-Kaiser. Damita had a great hit with Jack Donahue in "Sons Guns". This play had an extended Broadway run.
