Français : L'obélisque de la piazza del Popolo, appelé aussi obelisco Flaminio provenant du temple de Rê à Héliopolis. Érigé autrefois près du temple du soleil de l'antique cité égyptienne par Séthi Ier et Ramsès II, (-xiiie siècle) et transportés à Rome par Auguste pour être placé dans le cirque Maximus. Il a été réérigé en 1589 par Domenico Fontana pour orner le centre de la Piazza del Popolo à Rome (Italie).
English: The obelisk of Piazza del Popolo, also called obelisco Flaminio from the temple of Re in Heliopolis. Formerly erected near the temple of the sun of the ancient Egyptian city by Sethi I and Ramses II (thirteenth century) and transported to Rome by Augustus to be placed in the circus Maximus. It was re-erected in 1589 by Domenico Fontana to adorn the center of Piazza del Popolo in Rome (Italy).
