Shouldn't ablative be Franciscopoli rather than Franciscopolis? E.g. see the picture.--Rafaelgarcia 00:50, 25 Augusti 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but the construction is: Despectus in + acc. --Neander 01:44, 25 Augusti 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Neander, thanks for the help. The accusative is +in for these? Do you know where I can learn these greek Latin declension forms? I haven't been able to find an authoritative source on my own.--Rafaelgarcia 02:14, 25 Augusti 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Rafael, what is important to me is getting the syntax right. The choice between morphological variants (-polin vs -polim) is very much a matter of style. Perhaps Franciscopolim would've been better. Anyone may safely change the ending. --Neander 03:47, 25 Augusti 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Rafael, I'm pretty impressed with Usor:Fabullus/declinatio nominum Graecorum. Try that. --Iustinus 03:59, 25 Augusti 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suadeo hanc paginam et hanc categoriam in Franciscopolis (Francia) movenda. Est enim urbs satis celebra, idem nomen Latinum habens, in California. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 11:53, 31 Augusti 2015 (UTC)[reply]

But the one in California is the big one and therefore deserves the unmarked entry? IacobusAmor (disputatio) 14:09, 7 Decembris 2015 (UTC)[reply]
An overwhelming number of the cities linked as plain old [[Franciscopolis]] refer to the one in California. IacobusAmor (disputatio) 14:14, 7 Decembris 2015 (UTC)[reply]
They are both very important places (a bit like Nicaea (Turcia) and Nicaea (Francia)) so I'm not convinced either should have the unmarked entry. I think, however, because of the weight of links, that the unmarked redirect should go straight to Franciscopolis (California) so I've done that anyway. If you feel that a move is still needed, maybe suggest at Disputatio:Franciscopolis (California)? Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 18:46, 7 Decembris 2015 (UTC)[reply]
